Labor Law
Sommers Law Group currently is the General Counsel for the United Screeners Association Local One (USA Local 1), a small upstart union of screeners at the San Francisco International Airport (SFO). USA Local 1 has been battling with the much larger and well established Service Employees International Union Local 790 for the right to represent the screeners at SFO.
Sommers Law Group has also worked in conjunction with the Teamsters to fight for fair wages of immigrant workers in the East Bay.
Stephen Sommers has extensive history in the Labor Movement. He was a union organizer in the Southeastern part of the United States for seven years before attending law school. He has also clerked for the Chairman of the National Labor Relations Board in Washington D.C. He has worked for three international unions and three law firms focusing on labor law.
